Built-in DMA controller supports bi-directional memory-to-memorytransfers of up to 26 Mbytes per second. Transfer lengths from 4 bytesto 16 Mbytes can be initiated by either system.The 617 consists of one 6U VMEbus card and one bus card. The two cardsare connected with round EMI shielded cable, available in lengths up to25 feet. Fiber-optic cabling for lengths up to 2 meters is alsoavailable.The 617 supports bi-directional memory mapping for random access readsand writes between the two systems, as well as the passing of interrupts.A dual port RAM option can be used with any of the transfer methods.This option is a shared memory in which data in either system isimmediately available to the other system. Dual port RAM sizes areavailable up to 8 Mbytes.
